Videos, the good kind
If you feel like taking a break from oh-say programming, and reading a book is either not something you feel like doing ( too dazed to read ) or you simply wish to do something different, you may want to watch one of the various videos released by Google engineers, and other smart people. I tend to do so at least twice a week ( check the links below ) and whenever I am done watching one, I feel ready to get back to the 'game' and move to the next logical milestone, or at least I get to learn something or even get some thoughts running. If I could only watch those on my 32' Samsung HDTV.. perhaps Apple TV will be able to help me with that ( I can stream WMV to the TV via the Xbox 360 just fine, but I haven't found any transcoder for Mac OS X, yet ).
- Google Techtalk videos :You will be a fool not to watch those. Some, like ones related to the operations of Google from an engineering standpoint, are eye openers.
- UWTV.org : University of Washington 'offers original, non-commercial educational programming?24 hours a day, seven days a week. Since its inception in 1994'. The ones delivered by Google folks ( search 'Google' to have them enumerated for you ) have, also, been invaluable to me.
